Eimskip-CTG receives its fifth new reefer vessel
Eimskip-CTG has received its fifth new reefer vessel in approximately two years. The vessel is built at Myklebust Verft AS in Norway and will be named Holmfoss in accordance to Eimskips tradition of naming all its vessels after fosses.
The new reefer vessel is a combined reefer and container vessel. It is 82m long and 16m wide, with maximum cruising speed of 16 nautical miles per hour, and a deadweight of 2,500 tons. It has substantial loading and discharging capacity, about 200 tons per hour and is able to carry 1,800 pallets and 14 forty feet containers on deck. The vessel has side ports, which enables driving pallets directly onboard instead of having to hoist them using a crane.
Holmfoss is a waterfall in the river Pasvikelva. The river runs along the Norwegian / Russian Border. This is chosen to mark the close relation between Eimskip-CTG and its Russian customers.
