Eimskip announces today that Halldor Kristmannsson has been appointed Vice President of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations. Kristmannsson will be responsible for investor relations, media relations, corporate branding and internal communications. He will join the Group‘s Management Board and will actively be involved in several projects, including integration of acquired companies and acquisition activity. Kristmannsson will join Eimskip as of 1 March 2008.
Kristmannsson has been the Managing Director for the international investment company FL Group since September 2007 and resigned from his position on 14 February. Prior to this, he was the Vice President of Corporate Communications and investor relations of Actavis, the international generic pharmaceuticals company for six years. As a senior member of the Group's Executive Team, he was responsible for the internal and external communication function and the Group’s corporate branding. Kristmannsson also actively participated in several corporate development projects and worked alongside senior members of the board to oversee the integration of acquired companies. He was also the Compliance Officer for five years. Before joining Actavis, Kristmannsson was the finance director of Isafoldarprentsmidja, one of the largest printing companies in Iceland.
Heiðrun Jónsdóttir, which has been the Vice President of corporate communcation, human resources and legal matters will continue to serve as a Vice President of human resources and legal matters.
