Deadline changes in Gothenburg from 1st January 2007

Referring to information sent out in February this year, we have noticed that a large quantity of LCL-cargo has a tendency of arriving at the very last minute, or even after deadline.

Our ship loads in Gothenburg on Thursday morning, and all goods must be loaded into containers, Customs cleared and trucked into the harbour not later than Wednesday afternoon.

To get this operation working smoothly every week we unfortunately have to change the deadline for the latest time to deliver LCL-cargo a couple of hours.

Latest time (deadline) for delivery of LCL-cargo/General Cargo:

Earlier deadline: Wednesday at 10am
New deadline from 1st January 2007:  Tuesday at 3pm

Deadline for other types of shipments (hazardous cargo, flatrack cargo* and FCL-containers) remains the same:

LCL/hazardous cargo-IMO:  Tuesday at 11am
LCL/flat rack*:    Tuesday at  3pm
Full containers/FCL:   Wednesday at 11pm

* I.e. long packages, timber, cable drums and other type of cargo that needs to be loaded on flatracks instead of dry-containers.

It is vital that hazardous cargo, large shipments, long packages and other cargo that must be loaded on flatracks is delivered in good time.

We would also like to point out that deadline is the latest time for delivery of cargo. If you have the possibility to deliver the cargo earlier in the week we would be very grateful.

Temperature controlled shipments

For bookings that requires a reefer container (i.e. set on a certain temperature) we need your booking not later than Mondays at 10am.

Please note that reefer containers(for chilled or frozen cargo) is special equipment that we don’t always keep in our depot. To guarantee that we have a reefer container for your booking we recommend you to make your booking reservation at least 2 weeks in advance.

Departure from Gothenburg:  Thursdays (same as earlier)
Transit-times:
Torshavn, Faroe Islands   3 days
Reykjavik, Iceland   5 days

Other important information when shipping LCL-cargo:

We would also like to take the opportunity to mention the importance of always stating the booking reference on the goods, the CMR and the Customs Document. The truck driver must refer to the booking reference to be allowed access to the terminal to deliver the cargo. This is to avoid wrongly delivered cargo.
