Passenger service

Eimskip offers weekly departures to Europe with the vessels Dettifoss and Godafoss.

Eimskip only offers passenger service on the Northern route.

The vessels sail from Reykjavik to Vestmannaeyjar, Thorshavn, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Aarhus and Fredrikstad. For further information see our sailing schedule.

Sailing with the Eimskip vessels has been very popular among our customers.  The passenger facilities are very comfortable, even though the vessels are designed mainly as transport vessels. On board are two cabins, two doubles and one single. The cabins are comfortable and well equipped with both toilet and shower. The maximum passenger capacity is three people, due to the number of availability in the lifeboats.

Passengers can make themselves comfortable in the vessel's lounge where they can watch videos, play cards or chess and relax. The dining room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Duty-free goods are sold on board including liquor, tobacco and sweets in addition to necessary hygiene products. Overnight stays are not offered on board when the vessel calls at Reykjavik.

Passengers are invited to go sightseeing at other ports of call or can stay on board if they wish - arrival and departure times may vary. Eimskip’s agents at each location and customer contact services (tel: + 354 525 7800) provide information regarding the exact times.

In 2008, passenger services are only available from April 15th to October 31st.
