A new vessel, Skogafoss, added to Eimskip's fleet
Improved service to and from North-America
Increased capacity in sailings to and from Europe

As of July 15th, Eimskip will strengthen its liner operations in the North-Atlantic with the addition of Skogafoss, a 700 TEUs container vessel to its fleet of vessels. The North-American market will now be served by two vessels instead of one, bringing considerable increase in service to Eimskip's customers. A revised sailing schedule is based on two calls each month in Everett (Boston, MA) and Argentia (Newfoundland), and monthly calls in Halifax (Canada) and Norfolk, VA.

Reykjafoss, Eimskip's current vessel on the North-America route, will continue its schedule between Iceland, Halifax, Everett, Argentia and Norfolk. The new vessel, Skogafoss, will focus on Newfoundland and Everett in Boston.

The market in Newfoundland has been showing steady growth, with an upturn in both the fishing and heavy industries in the area. This upturn is one factor in Eimskip's decision to strengthen its operations in the North-Atlantic, and meeting increased demands for transport services between Newfoundland and Europe.

Eimskip's European liner schedules will also see changes as of beginning July:

• The Southern route will cease calling Hamburg and Northern route will replace the Southern route calls in Hamburg. This change is mainly implemented to ensure space availability and dependability of the Southern route.
• The Eastern route currently calling  Torshavn, FO and Aarhus, DK, will add Fredrikstad, NO to its ports of call
• The Northern route will cease calls in Fredrikstad but add Hamburg as port of call.
• Eimskip - CTG, subsidiary of Eimskip in Norway, will add Aberdeen, Scotland as a port of call to and from Norway.

Furthermore, these changes are a part of strengthen the services between Newfoundland in Canada and Europe, as well as servicing the North-East coast of the U.S. around the Boston area with connections to Europe.
