Following the earthquake and concequent Tsunami in Japan earlier this month, several shipping companies have issued notifications on their schedules in the area. In general it can be stated that all of the harbours in the Miyagi County area are closed and will stay closed for some time. Larger cities in this county include Sendai,  Onahama, and Hachinohe which suffered servere damges.

Operations in cities such as Nagoya and Kobe are ongoing, but delays and closures can be expected at any times. Tokyo and Yokohama are not served by all the regular lines these days, as some of them have omitted calls for the time being.
