Eimskip presents a new sailingroute to Iceland and Faroe Islands from January 2008
We are happy to inform you that Eimskip from 1st January 2008 can present a brand new sailingroute. To meet the markets requirements with bigger volumes and improve our service towards our customers we will sail with three routes between Iceland/Faroe Islands and the Continent/UK/Scandinavia, instead of earlier two routes.
This also means changed day for portcall in Gothenburg with changed deadlines for delivery of LCL cargo and containers.
New day for portcall Wednesdays
New deadlines for delivery of LCL-cargo and FCL-containers:
LCL Mondays at 3pm
LCL – dangerous cargo(IMO) Mondays at 11am
LCL – reefer cargo (frozen/chilled) Tuesdays between 10am – 11am
LCL/OOG & heavy cargo* Fridays at 2pm
Full containers/FCL Tuesdays at 11pm
* I.e. truck chassis, big machinery, long packages, timber, cable drums and other type of cargo that needs to be loaded on flatracks instead of dry-containers. These shipments need to be delivered early so that we have time to load/secure the cargo.
We would also like to point out that deadline is the latest time for delivery of cargo. If you have the possibility to deliver the cargo earlier in the week we would be very grateful.
Temperature controlled shipments
For bookings that requires a reefer container (i.e. set on a certain temperature) we need your booking no later than Fridays at 10am. Delivery to our terminal according to above or agreement when you make the booking reservation.
Please note that reefer containers (for chilled or frozen cargo) is special equipment that we don’t always keep in our depot. To guarantee that we have a reefer container for your booking we recommend you to make your booking reservation at least 2 weeks in advance.
Other important information when shipping LCL-cargo:
We would also like to take the opportunity to mention the importance of always stating the booking reference on the goods, the CMR and the customs document. The truck driver must refer to the booking reference to be allowed access to the terminal to deliver the cargo. This is to avoid wrongly delivered cargo.
Documentation
We need your shipping instruction and customs clearance(or invoice/information for the customs clearance) as soon as possible after your booking, preferably before arrival to our terminal.
Please send your documents to fax no: +46 42 175597 or email: gotexport@eimskip.se
