Iceland Seaman’s Union and Eimskip have reached an agreement on wages for members of the union working on the company’s container vessels in liner services to and from Iceland. The strike called as of 16 January 2017 has therefore been cancelled.

Eimskip has sold freight ship Írafoss to Albania. Írafoss was built in 1991, 1890 tons in size, the ship had no crane on board and was the smallest ship in the company operation.The ship has been operating in Norway since 2010, its abilities were limited due the lack of crane on board.Írafoss sale is a part of the natural regeneration of the company's fleet. At 18.08.2011 almost 1600 tons of refractory stones and refractory cement were loaded on board vessel Svarfoss in two different compartments. The cargo was palletized and delivered by 80 trucks to the warehouse in Velsen. Together with the very good cooperation with CTG Norway, Eimskip Germany was successfully able to acquire and handle this project. The vessel left the port late evening of 18.08 with in total 2100 tons of cargo.
