Eimskip China opens new office

Eimskip China expanded its service network by opening a new office in Tianjin in December 2010. The office is located at the International Plaza of Tianjin city with six experienced employees.

The Port of Tianjin is the sixth largest port in China, with an annual volume of around nine million TEU. Tianjin port is at the intersection of the Beijing and Tianjin urban areas and the Bohai rim economic area, with a short distance between northern and northwestern China.

Tianjin port is specialized in project shipments; large scale power plant equipment and out of size cargo. Several such projects are being carried out in developmenting of the western part of China. Apart from the project cargo, Tianjin port is also active in export of fruit and vegetables to Europe, with the famous Ya pear originating in the Tianjin area.

Eimskip Tianjin will focus on developing local reefer cargo business, in addition to focusing on dry and project cargo. Mr. Zhao Chen is the local manager. He has previously worked for Panapina and SDV, with extensive experience in project cargo shipping.
