Wednesday, January 29, 2014
Eimskip has decided to change the name of its subsidiary in Norway from Eimskip-CTG AS to Eimskip Norway AS. The purpose of the change is to simplify the marketing of Eimskip's services in its home market in the North Atlantic.

Eimskip Norway has operations in Kirkenes, Tromsö, Sortland, Aalesund, Bergen and Fredrikstad.

Concurrently, three of the six vessels being operated by Eimskip in Norway will be renamed after waterfalls in accordance with names of other vessels owned by the company. The vessels Ice Crystal, Ice Star and Ice Bird will now be named Langfoss, Stigfoss and Vidfoss, after Norwegian waterfalls.

Thus, the company operates six reefer vessels in Norway, named Holmfoss, Langfoss Polfoss, Stigfoss, Svartfoss and Vidfoss.

Eimskip has focused on serving the seafood and oil industry in Norway and is the only containerized operator offering direct services between Northern Norway and the US East Coast and Canada.
