ElbFeeder, a German affiliate in which Eimskip holds a 48% ownership, has agreed to sell the 1,710 TEU container vessel MV EF Emma, built in 2008. Delivery to the new owner is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or other commercial terms of the transaction.
The sale is in line with Elbfeeder’s strategy of active fleet management and follows the previously announced sale of MV EF Emira. As disclosed in Eimskip’s financial results for the second quarter of 2026, the financial impact of that sale is expected to be recognized in the third quarter of 2026 and to have a positive impact on Eimskip’s share of profit from affiliates.
The sale of EF Emma will be recognized in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the combined total impact of the two transactions on share of profit from affiliates for Eimskip is approximately EUR 12 million in 2026.
Eimskip’s long-standing partnership with ElbFeeder and its majority owner, Ernst Russ, has been highly successful. Built on mutual trust and close collaboration, the partnership has supported Eimskip’s vessel operations and provided a strong foundation for the strategic development of its fleet.
The strength of the partnership is reflected in Eimskip’s recent contracts for the construction of two advanced 2,280 TEU container vessels, alongside ten-year charter agreements through ElbFeeder. The new vessels, expected to be delivered in the second half of 2028, will support Eimskip’s future growth and strengthen its sailing system in the North Atlantic.
