Kales Iceland, a new joint venture between TVG-Zimsen, a subsidiary of Eimskip, and Kales Group B.V. , has been selected as the General Sales and Service Agent for Air China in Iceland, with responsibility for the commercial development and support for the airline's cargo business in Iceland.
New opportunities for trade between Iceland and China
Air China is preparing to commence a new service between Beijing and Keflavík via Copenhagen on 26. October 2026, operating three times per week with Airbus A330-300 aircraft carrying both passengers and cargo.
The new connection creates opportunities for businesses trading between Iceland and China. Icelandic exporters, particularly those shipping fresh seafood and other time-sensitive products, gain a new route to reach customers in the Chinese market. At the same time importers benefit from a new scheduled freight connection and greater access to goods and suppliers in China.
“At Kales, we are delighted to extend our already strong partnership with Air China in Iceland. This continued collaboration reflects our shared commitment to delivering high-quality services, fostering long-term relationships, and supporting Air China’s operations in the Icelandic market. We look forward to building on our successful cooperation and further strengthening our partnership in the years ahead,” says Adam Gunnarsson, VP at Kales Group.
“It is exciting to see Iceland and China becoming more closely connected. Direct air connectivity creates opportunities that go far beyond the flight itself, strengthening trade, relationships and cooperation between our two countries. We are proud that Kales Iceland can contribute to building on those opportunities,” says Raffaele Manna, Managing Director TVG-Zimsen.
Kales Iceland will provide General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) services to airlines operating in the Icelandic market.
